Each year on the Saturday before Mother’s Day, we raise funds to support Victoria Hospice and families fighting cancer. This year, in addition to our family tournament, Anneswer to Cancer will attempt to set a World Record for the most people making consecutive soccer passes.
The current record is 596 people and we want to shatter that mark!
Anyone 10 years or older, that can make a 12 yard pass, can take part in the world record attempt. During the event, we will have additional activities on site such as a radar gun contest, juggling contest, penalty shot contest, silent auction, raffles, and a concession. Participants will receive a souvenir T-shirt as well the chance to win other prizes.
Victoria Hospice has provided us a great site for individuals to create their own fundraising page to send to family and friends, plus a tool to track our fundraising progress. Our goal is to have each World Record participant raise a minimum of $25 through online or door-to -door pledges but encourage participants to set their own goal and compete for prizes.
To start, go online to http://www.victoriahospice.kintera.org/anneswertocancer and sign up for an existing pledge team or create your own ‘team’ and recruit people to join your group. Spread the word…you don’t have to be a “soccer player” to pass a ball…tell your family and friends…help us find an Anneswer to Cancer!
